AstroSmoot is a collaboration between Victoria Naumann Smoot and Richard Smoot. Our vision is to combine our 100 years of knowledge, experience, learning, education, teaching, and talent to provide useful information, discussion, consultation, and other skills for you to read and use.
We are both professional astrologers, certified by international astrology organizations for competency, ethics, and consulting skills. We seek to serve through personal consultations, classes, and tutoring for those who want to learn astrology, writing articles, and publishing.

About Victoria
When I was about 6 years old, I visited the Adler Planetarium in Chicago with my family. I will never forget the excitement, amazement, and not a little bit of fear. While growing up, my father pointed out the constellations in the sky, telling me their names, and stories behind those names. Now, what I like so much about Astrology is that it is a blend of all the Liberal Arts and Sciences and Math all in one. Using Astrology, I seek to assist clients to understand themselves and their purpose in life. Richard and I began working on Astrology together in 2012, each with individual clients, each in our own way.
Victoria holds a MS of Ed in English, Art and TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language) and has studied and practiced astrology since the early 1970s combining this with language teaching, writing, design, and editing. Since 2010, when she joined ISAR, she earned her ISAR.CAP certification, served as a trainer of Consulting Skills and Competency, and exam proctor with ISAR and 12 years as Editor-in-Chief of The International Astrologer. She is a certified professional with OPA, and a member of NCGR. In 2024, Victoria added a Certification for Vibrational Astrology.
About Richard
My consultation emphasis is to use astrology to empower you in making your own decisions in determining your life. Astrology is my lifelong passion to study astrology and its correlation to human behavior. I have been an astrologer since 1971 and I’m a certified astrologer with many astrological associations worldwide. I have been fortunate to be recognized as a national and international speaker and enjoy tutoring and training of students.
As a former social worker for the State of Michigan, I worked in developing a “Consulting Skills Program” for consulting astrologers, which is still used today in ISAR’s (International Society for Astrological Research) Certification Program. I was the Operations Manager for ISAR for over 10 years.
I have been involved in several other organizations including being an OPA group leader and on the NCGR Board of Examiners. I’m a graduate of a two-year program by Ray Merriman in Financial Astrology and was on his staff to teach astrology to stock market traders.

About your consultation
As your Astrologer, we hope to empower you to understand and develop choices in your life. The task of an astrologer is to look at these associations and our knowledge of astrology and to work with you as we listen. Together, we can understand the cycles in your life and gain a meaningful understanding of you. Ultimately, it is up to you to make your own choices and actions.
Your consultation is a map of your journey in life, traveling on that journey with the guidance of a professional astrologer. It is a translated GPS for your life path to consider. A consultation can show you where you have been and where you are now with how your life, including serious issues that you may be dealing with, is all written in cycles of universal time. That is why we start with the birth chart, calculated from the time, date, and place where you were born on the planet Earth.
We will record your session; however, we are not responsible for equipment or recording issues. Please let us know if you do not want your consultation recorded. We will not re-record the session, so you may want to record the session yourself. We will retain your recording in our secure files if you wish.
